Summer is Officially Over

Well, the weather finally feels like summer, but all the other indicators are mking me come to grips with the fact that summer really is over. Our school year started two weeks ago and today was the opening day of soccer season! Sarah scored the winning goal in her first game with a powerhouse kick from nearly centerfield over the goalie's head.
Way to go!!!!

So. Cal. Summer 2008

Our trip started out with Kevin at the Pastor's Conference at Murrieta Hot Springs and we girls at my sister's house for a cousin reunion...

Braydon is getting so big!

We have a new member of the family...Brynleigh!

Here is a picture of Ron & Tiffany Carricchio with Kevin & Amy on their annual father/daughter ride down the toilet bowl.

Cathy, Nici and I took a memorable trip to the Huntington Gardens.

Off to Hollywood to see Prince Caspian at the El Capitan.

The theater was full of backdrops, props and costumes from the movie...very cool!

We found hand and foot prints of some of our favorite actors and actresses...
Julie Andrews, Debbie Renyolds, Dick Van Dyke, Gene Kelly, Esther Williams, Doris Day.....

Just one more reason to love Northern California!!!!!!!

Father's Day! Notice the girls are wearing Dodger T-shirts to honor their dad. Kevin's old high school buddy, Bill, came up to Ramona with his family and so did Kevin's mom, Bea (far right). We had a very nice time together!

Grandma's dog, Paco, loved Carianne! The feeling was very mutual!!!!

We had a good time visiting our families and the old friends that have become family over the years, but we are very very very happy to be home with our church family here in Fort Bragg!

Every Memorial Day we have our annual church picnic at Bald Hill. Here are some pictures of our fun!

I played too, but it wasn't pretty! Check out "My Gallery" for the hummingbird nest that we found...very cool!

Aristocats

Here is Amy's "Gypsy-Cat" scene.

Her moment of glory!

By the way...this scene was not originally in the play, but the casting team wanted to use these kids so this scene was added in. The Gypsies created their own dialogue and song for this scene!

Quite impressive, I say!!

The Language of Flowers

Amy did a research report on the Victorian Era's language of flowers.
This bouquet is called a "tussy-mussy". Each flower/plant represents a virtue or feeling.
Amy made this as a birthday gift for one of her best friends.
The pink rose=grace, rosemary=rememberance, calendula=joy, ivy=friendship, rue=virtue, lemon verbena=love, and jasmine=amiability.
